Eric Snider

I have been blessed to serve as pastor of FBC White Plains since 1994. I came to Christ in 1982 as a twelve year old boy. My wife, Kim, and I have been married since 1992. We have one daughter Anna, and her husband Kolby. I love the smoked chicken sandwich at Jim-n-Nicks. I am an avid hunter as well. One of my favorite Bible verses is Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed towards his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” What I love about the church is its willingness to serve and help without worrying about who gets the credit. Our goal is pointing others to our Savior and not ourselves.

I come from a long line of preachers, deacons, and singers, and have been raised to come to church and serve, not to be served. I started singing with my sister and a friend in a nursing home ministry when I was about ten. I was saved and baptized when I was twelve years old, and started preaching at nineteen. I’ve sang in a few trios and quartets over the years but I’ve always had a special love for the church, so I’ve ended up right here in the church where I was saved and baptized many years ago. I became the Minister of Music and Choir Director at FBC White Plains in 1997 where I have served now for twenty-three years – nineteen of those years as a volunteer, until I came onboard as a full time staff member in 2016. I have been accompanied by my wife Lora and two sons – Jacob and Adam. All of which are musicians in the praise band. Lora plays piano and sings in the choir, Jacob plays drums and is part of our audio/video production team, and Adam plays multiple instruments while being our band and worship leader. Adam also handles the worship at our jail ministry worship on Sunday mornings. I love that our church is Christ minded, Christ honoring, and Christ obeying. We all care about each other and we want to take our community to Heaven with us. My favorite hobbies are hunting, fishing, boating, singing, and doing mission projects. I love eating steak, chicken, seafood, and carbs (all of them!). My favorite Bible verse is found in the book of Psalms 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”

My husband, Vernon, and I have been saved since 1989. We have been married since 1967. We have three children: Donna, Tammy, and Rodney, along with six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. I began working at FBC White Plains in 2005. I love my church and have such love for all of our church family; so many, I have known most of my life. I have been at FBC White Plains since I was about ten years of age. Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Brown were my Sunday School and Training Union teachers for many years. The love felt here at FBC WP is as strong now as it was fifty years ago. That speaks volumes for our church being what it is today. I love to do crafts such as sewing and crocheting and my favorite food is chicken cooked in any way. My favorite Bible verses are: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life; and Psalms 100:3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Nathan Shubert

I am Nathan Shubert, the Children’s Minister at First Baptist Church of White Plains. I have served in this role since September 2016. Prior to serving as Children’s Minister, I have served as a Sunday School teacher in the College & Career, Youth, Young Adult (Mash), & Auditorium class. I have been a member at FBC White Plains since 2006. I announced my call to preach in May 2006. I was saved on February 16, 1989. I have been married to my wife Ashleigh since February 16, 2008. We have four children: Taylor, Trace, Cade, and Callaway (Cal). I work as a Quality Assurance Specialist at the Anniston Army Depot. I have been employed there since December 2003. When time allows, I enjoy coaching baseball, hunting, and fishing. My favorite bible verse is 1 Cor. 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was in me.” I love my church. What I love the most is the faith of Bro Eric Snider to allow someone like me to serve in any capacity. I am nothing but a broken vessel. When I realized I was broken, God didn’t throw me away. He simply continued to mold and to make me into His image. I’m so glad, He didn’t throw this clay away!

Nick Arnold

I have been the student minister at First Baptist Church of White Plains since December 2019, and I am thankful to be a part of such a great church family. I surrendered my life to Christ when I was 14 years old, and I was called to serve in the ministry when I was 18. My wife, Amanda, and I have been married since 2005. We have two children: a daughter named Leighton and a son named Colton. My favorite Bible verse is John 15:13 “greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” In my spare time, I love sports, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. What I love most about my church is how they show their love for others so that Christ is revealed.

Josh White

I grew up in Heflin, AL where I still reside today. I had the privilege to be raised by two Godly parents, Danny and Denise White. At the age of 14, sitting under the preaching of my youth pastor, I realized I was a sinner; I was lost; and I was in need of a Savior. I got down on my knees and asked Jesus to come into my heart to be my Lord and Savior. That marked the beginning of my journey with Christ. Now, 21 years later, my love for Jesus is ever growing. My number one objective in life is to see others come to Christ. Jesus saw fit to give me a wonderful, Godly wife named Hannah.  Hannah and I got married in 2014 and began our journey together. Since then, we have been blessed with two loving children – Lily Kayte and Jack. I could never thank God enough for my little family. I currently serve as the Jail Minister at the Cleburne County Jail. There is nothing like seeing an inmate, who is on the verge of complete hopelessness, find his or her hope in Jesus! Nobody has gone too far. Nobody has messed up too much. Forgiveness and Salvation is only as far as the time it takes one of those inmates to call upon the name of the Lord. Romans 10:13 – “For WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
I love FBCWP because it is a church building where FREEDOM thrives! There is a freedom to worship! A freedom to teach, and a freedom to learn more about Christ! However, what happens on the inside of our church building is not the most important thing. FBCWP is an outwardly focused church. Our church dwells within a constant pursuit of the Lost. My favorite hobby is bass fishing!
My favorite bible verse is 1 Corinthians 2:2 – “For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. “

Adam Smith

I’ve have attended church at FBCWP my entire life, and I even received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior here at the age of eight.  My roles have included “kid of the Music Minister and the piano player”, band member, singer, and now the ones you see listed above.  I spent a few years at Bethel University, where I played bass guitar with a traveling gospel choir, and I was exposed to many different types of worship services.  I am now in Chiropractic school at Life University, and I am nearing completion of my studies. I plan to practice somewhere close to home.  In my rare free time, I do enjoy working out and fishing, but most of it is usually spent with my true passion: music.  I am extremely blessed to be able to use what I love to worship my God! I am looking forward to experiencing what God will do next in our Christ-exalting, people-loving, Kingdom-minded church!  “While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.” -‭‭Psalms‬ ‭146:2
